Why do Pakistanis suffer from inferiority complex?

Why do Pakistanis suffer from inferiority complex?
1) Media Hype
2) Poor leadership
3) We belong to 3rd world

Significance

It is an important issue which is indirectly related to our national image of our country.
Through reviewing of literature I got to know that in Pakistan, there is a main problem among Pakistanis is that they are not united when it comes to support our country on international level.  This is because inferiority complex has become part of our personalities.
Why is it so?
Is sketched some reasons through reviewing of literature.
1) Media Hype
2) Poor leadership
3) we belong to the 3rd world

Poor Leadership:
"Leadership should be born out of the understanding of the needs of those who would be affected by it."  Marian Anderson (1897-1993). In Pakistan we are unlucky to have careless and irresponsible leadership since it came into being. Pakistani people don’t believe that government can be effective in solving the humanitarian crises. Pakistan is a state with a short history that has been all too terrible for its sixty years; having seen four military coups in six decades, which failed to render even lip service to democracy, human rights, and civil liberties remain passing luxuries in the lives of most Pakistanis. It might be a reason which gives us inferiority complex.
"The key to successful leadership today is influence, not authority." (Kenneth Blanchard: Increasing Effectiveness Through Situational Leadership (1985))

We belong to the 3rd World:
The term Third World formed during the Cold War to define countries that remained non-aligned with either capitalism. 3rd world countries are economically weak, living in poverty and socially disturbed.
It isn't exactly our fault that we were born on this part of the world classified as 3rd-world or poverty stricken. So being a 3rd country is also a major problem.
Being a third world nation does not have to be a permanent situation. A number of previously poor nations have become developed nations in recent years. This is something that looks to be increasing as more and more third world nations are moving towards development.

a) Reason selected:

Media Hype
b) Reasons Rejected:
·         Poor leadership
·         We belong to the 3rd world
REASONS OF REJECTION:
Though there are important but I rejected these two issue because of insufficient availability of data availability of data. During my research I didn’t find the sound and relevant data.
Secondly, these two reasons are exaggerated by media as well. There are some countries like Japan and Malaysia who established themselves from poverty without considering themselves inferior to others.
Main Question:
How media hype is playing its role in generating inferiority complex among Pakistanis?

Sub Questions:
·         What is inferiority complex?
·          How inferiority complex is affecting our people
·          How media hype is destroying our national image
·         What type of issues is originating from media hype?
·         What kind of programs in media is creating issues in our society?
·         How to collect data?
·          Who is more affected psychologically?
Objectives:
·          I want to elaborate and explain the reasons behind inferiority complex among Pakistani
·         To describe the media hype and its negative impacts
·         To aware higher authorities about this serious issue
·         To find the intensity of issue
·         To explore much more about it
·         To what extent it is a problem for development

Review of Literature:
Inferiority complex is when a person consider himself physically, mentally or socially weak than other people. Inferiority complex arises when a person finds himself in a situation where his abilities and attitudes are rejected by other people. When this complex arises on the national level among the habitants of a country, it is difficult for that country to become developed.
Pakistan is developing country though it is also being called failed state. Through many reasons, national image of Pakistan has been destroyed in the last few decades and that’s why Pakistanis are suffering from an inferiority complex.
According to research held in 2009 by an NGO “Help Welfare Organization” youth is more victim of media hype which gives them inferiority complex and they face different types of difficulties when they go abroad. Media has psychological effect on their lives.

1) Media hype:
Media hype is when the media expands on a story to dredge up anger, fear, etc. They make the story bigger than it needs to be to attract more viewers, readers and listeners.
Media plays a important role in our society today. It can change opinions because they have access to people and this gives it a lot of strength. This strength can either be used constructively by educating the people or it can be used destructively by misleading the innocent people. Pakistani media has undergone a dramatic alteration over the last decade, from being largely state run to being saturated with numerous satellite television channels, radio stations and newspapers. The result has been a media sector depicted by some as the forerunner of democracy and by others as polarizing and fanatic.
According to my research, I concluded that media is responsible for this.
Facebook, twitter, news channels, and private electronic media broadcast everything which is irrelevant.
Media exaggerates political issues, poverty, and corruption. Media shows luxury in their programs.
I questioned some people about their point of view and 90% of them blamed media for this inferiority complex.
The changes in the behavior of people towards life are attributable to the negative psychological effects of media. Changes in cultural and moral values have been observed. Many people believe that what is depicted by the media is true and acceptable, altering their judgment and causing altercation. The negative influences of media are enormous. It affects the physical self, the emotions, the mental aspect, and even the spiritual stand of many people. One negative influence can activate another negative effect and this can cause a chain of reaction leading to destruction of relationships in society.
